Congratulations if you've made it this far in looking for a therapist. The process is not always easy.
If you are at this point, it may mean that you have this nagging sense that something in your life isn't going as well as you would like. I have found that I am the most successful in therapy with people who are at a juncture in their lives. These people come in knowing they have many personal strengths and positives in their lives, but something is missing or holding them back. Sometimes people have no idea what the problem is. Other times, they know exactly what it is - they just aren't necessarily sure what to do about it.
Most people say they do not want a therapist who "sits quietly and nods" while they talk. I provide a comfortable and safe space for people to share their concerns, and I am conversational and direct. I consider myself an active partner in your choice to move forward in your life, and I am truly honored to be brought in on the process.
Communities and people I serve
While I work with people of diverse backgrounds and identities, I specialize in working with lesbian women, gay men, bisexual folks and trans-identified, queer or questioning people.
I also have particular experience working with people who are questioning their alcohol or drug use. Additionally, I work with people affected by a loved one or friend’s drinking or drug use, as well as those with HIV and chronic medical conditions.
